Prior to his current role, Dr. Lipperts was Senior Manager at Corporate Innovation Management of Deutsche Telekom AG where he was responsible for a portfolio of innovation projects which he sets up to transfer innovations to the market. From technology trends, customer trends, and product trends, Steffen Lipperts identified, developed and realized new business opportunities for Deutsche Telekom. Earlier, Dr. Lipperts was Program Manager for several project fields in Corporate Research and Development at Deutsche Telekom. When he joined Deutsche Telekom in 2002, he first worked at Product Generation of T-Com, Deutsche Telekom’s fixed network branch (now branded T-Home).
Prior to working for Deutsche Telekom, Steffen Lipperts was co-founder of IT Develop AG, a start-up which realized a web-community platform for events and social networking. He was also part of Apollis interactive AG, a Mobile Business Solution company, as VP Research & Development.
Dr. Steffen Lipperts received his doctorate in computer science (PhD) from Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), Germany, with his thesis on "Mobile Agent Support Services". Prior to this, he studied Computer Science at University of Kent at Canterbury, UK, and Aachen University of Technology.
Dr. Steffen Lipperts’ main areas of professional interest are mobile internet, mobile multimedia and entertainment , and web2.0.
